Better than the world

“Who has ascended into heaven, or descended?
Who has gathered the wind in His fist?
Who has bound the waters in a garment?
Who has established all the ends of the earth?
What is His name, and what is His Son’s name?
Do you know?”
Proverbs 30:4

Of course we know.

His name is: God, Elohim, Adonai, Jehova-Yaweh, El-Shaddi, and SO much more.
His Son’s name is: Jesus, Yeshua, Rabbi, Christ, Son of the most High, and SO much more.

Yes, I know.

I know because I have HIS spirit living inside me because I have been called out and drawn to Him. (John 6:44). I know because though my heart is full of filth and depravity, the blood of Jesus Christ covers all of that and HE shows me the error of my ways. He points out my sin to me so that I can change and work daily to become more and more like His Son… my Savior.

But what about those who don’t know Him?

Should we REALLY be shocked at the behavior of those who don’t? Those that don’t call on the name of Jesus and put the Lord first place in their lives?

As Christians we tend to get angry at the world for its behavior and filth. Instead of anger, maybe it is compassion we should have. Instead of shock, maybe we should be heartbroken. Instead of shaking our heads in disbelief, maybe we should be bowing our heads in prayer and crying out to the Father on their behalf.

If they don’t know Him, should we expect anything less?

I DO know Him and yet I still wallow in filth and sin. But the difference between my stink and the worlds?

Mine is covered by a sweet smelling aroma that is Jesus Christ.

It doesn’t make me any better than the rest of the world… just a bit more humbled.

Chelsey…beautiful message here…It’s true, perhaps if we showed more compassion to those we are inclined to judge or become frustrated with, we may truly make the difference the world needs..

When you know Him sometimes you can’t help feeling His grief too. Especially in regards the treatment of the weak and vulnerable. Praise God, Who alone judges right. May He indeed humble us all more and more, so we can be true extensions of His grace to others.
    God bless you Chelsey ..Trish
